Vids + Toronto show

We added a couple new live videos to the Music page. The sound is atrocious because we filmed them on an old camcorder BUT you can see what a ridiculously fun time we had in Ottawa (and Montreal but we didn’t have anyone to film for us there!). Shoutout to the guy who came out of the mosh pit to help put the mic stand back when everything went flying and everyone who sang along the whole time.

Next up, we’ll be playing Smiling Buddha in Toronto on June 13. See you there!

Wavelength Music Festival – February 13

To say that we’re thrilled to be playing Night 1 (on February 13) of Wavelength Music Festival is an understatement. There are so many great acts on the bill (like Laura Barrett from Sheezer and our practice space mates Most People) covering all sorts of awesome Toronto bands. For one night only, we’ll be covering The Constantines – a daunting yet exciting task.

And best of all – Controller.controller! One night at band practice a few weeks ago we stopped suddenly and two of us said in unison “Is that Controller.controller next door?1?!” We hovered in the hallway outside the door for a moment trying to ascertain whether it was indeed them. (As did another guy, so we weren’t the only ones acting like creeps.) We can’t wait to see them hit the stage.

It’s going to be a great night celebrating Toronto’s amazing music scene – see you there! (In the meantime, check out this interview we did for the Wavelog.)

An all ages show + a Sick Kids fundraiser

We’re kicking off 2015 with two shows in January. The first one is an all ages show on January 8th at Velvet Underground – it’ll be our first all ages show in Toronto outside of our World Pride gig, so don’t miss it!

Then on January 18th, we’re playing a fundraiser at The Piston for music therapy programs at Sick Kids. Raise money for a really great cause AND see a bunch of cool bands. It’s a win-win.

1st Annual December Blowout Bash

This Saturday, we will be celebrating (the end of the year / the holidays / two birthdays / the 90s / just because) with a blowout bash on Saturday, December 13th at Hard Luck.

The show will feature an opening set by blue cougars (psych/dream pop), a 6 Degrees of Nirvana set (Hervana plays your favourite Nirvana-related bands) and a headlining set of the Nirvana songs you know and love to sing along to. We’ve been dropping hints on our social networks about what bands we’re covering in the 6 Degrees set – Hole and Foo Fighters are a given, but there will be lots of your other favourite 90s jams!

There will also be:
Loot bags for the first 50 people (get there early!)

We are ready to party. Come join us.

new season, new photos, new drummer… and a show!

Fall is here and it’s been a season of big changes for us! We wanted to put on our ‘best Sunday dress’ for you and with a little help and a lot of love from some amazingly talented people – our photographer, Rannie Turingan aka Photojunkie, and our makeup artist, Joan Antonio aka Klickclash (thank you so much! we love you, guys!) – we took some really great party time photos. You may have noticed a new face in the mix. We are so pleased to officially announce our new Dave Grrrl, Adrian Pasen. She is no stranger to the limelight (having played drums, bass and guitar with numerous bands in both Toronto and Berlin over the years) and we are super psyched to have her on board with us! If you want to see more from our photo shoot, please check out our press page. And if you’ve been itching to see and hear us play, we’ve got a show tonight at The Beaver for Punk Rock Bingo! So… come out and party with us, won’t you?!

World Pride was a blast

Thanks to everyone who came out to our set at World Pride! It was short but sweet and we had so much fun. (And we got to meet the legendary Pansy Division and the super awesome Laura Jane Grace, which was the best.) We were so thrilled to be a part of the amazing World Pride celebrations – high fives to everyone involved in making it happen. Fun fact: Kurt Cobain was one of the first rock stars to appear on the cover of a LGBT magazine, so we hope he would have been pleased.

We’re going to be away from the stage this summer, prepping some new songs and a surprise for the Fall. If you’d like to bring us to your city, hit us up at

This year, Toronto is hosting World Pride from June 20-29 and we’re ridiculously excited to be part of it! We’ll be playing on the Alterna-Queer Stage on June 29th at 3:30pm – perfect timing for you to head over to Alexander Parkette (12 Alexander Street, beside Buddies In Bad Times) after the parade! The Alterna-Queer stage is all ages and free and features a ton of amazing bands, like Unfinished Business, Lydia Lunch and Pansy Division.

Pride Toronto have really outdone themselves this year for World Pride, so you should make sure to check out the rest of the events they have scheduled, like a free Against Me! show at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 27th.
